Review this Gym
I have been a member of this gym for years now and am in the process of shopping around for another. It is far too expensive, has gotten very shabby in the last year and the staff are very unhelpful. Notice the dates for people who gave ok reviews. In my opinion it isnt worth the price. Find a newer cheaper gym like me :)

Westwood has a great pool but it's far too expensive for what you get. The free weights area is tiny compared to northwood and the cardio equipment looks like it hasn't been changed since the gym was opened. For the prices westwood are charging you expect new bouncy treadmills and decent rowers. Also there is the paradox that beside the gym Westwood run a nightclub where the teens of north Dublin Fill themselves with drink and totter off home.

Great gym, plenty of equipment & also a 200m indoor running track. The 49.5 metre pool (They made it that so they wouldn't have to host any events apperantly) is very good & well run. Changing rooms are all very modern and clean. Also, all the gym staff seem very friendly and are always on-hand to give you advice. My only problem is the price. â¬55 per month for a student is very expensive compared to the likes of Northwood/Alsaa where I could join for about â¬200 for the year. I only really joined WestWood as it is a lot more convenient than my previous gym, Alsaa. Overall though, I'd give WestWood 9/10

recently joined westwood clontarf. i like it a lot, facilities are fairly good, lots of bikes, threadmills, rowers etc. lots and lots of machines. really good free weights too, including three power cages and a squat rack. its never too busy but i usually go about midday so it could be worse some evenings. has a 50m pool too indoor tennis courts and a climbing wall. big changing rooms lots of showers always clean. only negative is that the equipment is a bit old, some of the plates have bits of the rubber missing but they still do the job. other negative is obviously the price. the student rate for me is â¬55 a month plus â¬75 joining ouch! i was in northwood last year it was ok really packed though and only had one power cage and two smiths which were always being used (westwood has two smiths too). prefer westwood, not many use the squat racks/cages so more for me

like being in westwood clontarf, however the amount of blatantly underage boys using the main (adults) gym is ridiculous. Just watching them you can tell that they're lifting weights unsuitable for them...followed by an almighty crash when they let go. The staff need to be keeping a closer eye.

This is an ok gym with a great pool. Changing rooms are pretty dire though with all the lockers in need of replacement and the family changing area for the pool is a joke, way to small with tiny changing rooms totally unsuited for use by parents and children.

50 metre pool. What more can you say!!! They have alot of room for parking but you could still be queuing for a few minutes on the road to get in. But itâs worth it. I have never seen a gym so well run and equipped, Even around the perimeter of the gym there is a indoor running track. The fitness classes are very well run. You can go swimming here if not a member on Wednesday nights. Thatâs swimming classes night. But they have beginner, intermediate and expert classes. If youâre a strong swimmer this will push you as every one pushes each other but there is good camaraderie.
