Review this Gym
I was the 3rd person to join this gym when it opened and I have been a member ever since. reason is that it's cheap. Now I seen alot of changes to the gym but more noticable is how dirty and disgusting its getting. The is gum on the threadmills on the shower floors. The staff are ok but I never really deal with the staff much only when I first started where there was whole different staff. Also about a half hour to an hour beforee closing they prepare to close kicking everyone out which is ridiculous, because they wanna go home early we have to suffer. they also changed the opening and closing hours which is just getting stupid. I see this place going down down down and no stopping. there is a gym at the regency hotel that looks beautiful but a bit pricey but you watch!, in another year this gym will hit the skids if it hasnt already.

I do love going to this gym, but when its my turn to renew it seems like the prices go up automatically. My mam joined with my cousin and paid 195 for a year. They dont have the friends option now and to join on my own it is 295. Also they closed early due to snow, which is understandable but we should be componsated with an extra week on our memberships. The classes are great but when the teacher is on holidays they have nobody to replace her. They also need a bigger car park, its a nightmare at 6pm.

Not impressed by the change in opening hours particularly on a Thursday night, it now closes at 9pm. Doesn't suit anyone who works for a living and wants to go late. The shower area is always dirty, staff just seem to ignore them and tend to be cleaning odd places like the mirrors instead. Main positive is the price.

I joined last year and since then cheap deals on and completely oversold the place, there last night and cant get onto machines, not even the threadmill of which there are loads, many machines broken for months on end even though the place is packed out. only 5 rowers which i can never get on. I wont be renewing my membership in May

i have been a member since september and truthfully only joined because i was interested in the classes .i started taking the aerobic classes with sinead and have to say she is fantastic, she was away last week and not to be bad to her replacements but they were nowhere near sineads skill or ability to motivate!it was the first time ever i didnt bother going until i knew she was back and a few of the other girls were very disappointed also in the quality of her replacements!the girl puts so much into her classes and i just felt it appropriate to let you know, since people usually only use these things when they have something bad to say! i have since brought my friend to the classes on a guest pass and she too was so impressed with sinead that her and her friend have also joined!the comments i get from other girls who do the classes with sinead and how she will work the weight off me only encourages me further! she is truly an asset to Northwood

Joined Northwood in July. Came from Total Fitness and the initial attraction for me was the price. é295 for 19months, til end Jan '11. Gym is great, cleaner and better kept then total fitness (malahide rd) only complaint is that it's jammers on mondays & tues, but it's the same everywhere. Recent extention of weights area upstairs is a great improvement. I'm yet to use the pool etc but it looks amazing and it's definately somthing i'm going to check out soon. Good classes. Staff are a bit 'rough & ready' not the most polite i've ever come across, but it's not as if you'd have much dealings with them anyway. For the price & facilities, you can't beat this gym.

i was a member of the gym a few years ago, about 3, and thought it was beautiful. i left then and didnt rejoin but have recently become pregnant and decided that i'd like 2 start swimming and lightly keeping in shape so i instantly thought of Northwood and i told my boyfriend and best friend about the cardio equipment, weights, pool facilities and classes that were offered and all three of us availed of the offer that was on so a years membership only cost us E185 each! It's a fantastic gym and fantastic price, much better than any gym around the area!
