Well I've been using the gym and the pool for some time. Yes I have to agree that most of the complaints about staff, facilities, hygiene level and so on are correct, but the key thing is you don't need to pay for the membership which is a big massive key for me, and for few quid you can enjoy the gym and the pool, the only reason why this gym is going to see me again is the price and easy come-easy go attitude. Comparing with some fitness premier gyms in town their price is sky high so I think I have to go there because of the price, but complaints are correct and unfortunately true facts.

Unhappy Gym Customer

Were do I start!!! I'll start on the positive notes...the exercise classes are really good although there are one or two of the staff that need to learn how to make it a little bit more fun and less of 'I'm the boss for the next hour!' Power trips some of them go on!!! Hate to tell ya but me paying for the class is paying YOUR wages so show some respect. The gym is way too small and yes have to agree that there is a serious lack of staff controlling the gym. Also have found that unless your a flirt the male staff wont go near ya. Granted its not all of them, there was one or two who were friendly when I was there. But on the whole its very poorly staffed, they have no consideration for people who are struggling with certain machines and then laugh at you when you ask a question that they see as simple!! I for one will not be going back until the staff get off their high horses, learn how to talk to people about their concerns, have respect for the customers and know how to keep the place clean and smelling nice.

I found leisure centre awful as most the machines are broken. the staff are unfriendly. I recently joined the new premier fitness in finglas its great staff great. Its like one on one with the staff. Classes are amazing

This is a terrible gym. The facilities itself are fine but staff are awful. I joined and got no personal assessment, no advice or anything and there is never anyone around the gym to ask. They walk around the gym for a minute then go into the canteen or just sit at the front desk. I also had a major problem with one of the men in there who would just stare all the time and make inappropriate comments at the pool which was unacceptable. It was totally rediculous and I will be complaining before my membership is up. Will not be renewing my membership and would not reccommend this gym to anyone. Need a total staff overhaul.

I've been going to this gym on and off for the past few years, always only paying the €5.80 per use. Last year I joined the NAC in Blanchardstown for 3 months to make use of the early opening times (6am). My schedule changed and evenings worked out better for me. I let the NAC membership expire and then joined the Finglas Leisure Centre for 15 months @ €299. I haven't come across value like that for a while now tbh. I reckon they are trying to push everyone towards membership as the single use fee has gone up to €7. I go in usually at 8pm - 8.30pm and stay till closing, and I don't find it overcrowded at all. Now, on occasion I've gone in at 7 and you'd be hardpressed to find anything free - again, I'd suggest that is due to a combo of the lack of alternate services in the area and the actual size of the building. I find the 4 loose benches adequate, along with the selection of free weights and bars. The machines available seem to be on par with most gyms I've been in although a set of dip bars wouldn't go astray. As regards maintenance of machines, I'd say one treadmill/bike along with one other machine would normally be down for 3-4 days. Again, nothing I haven't witnessed in other gyms. I find the staff good, not great. They're helpfull where they can be, a few of them are very knowledgeable, while a few of them are just kids who are there to make up numbers. Pool and showering facilities are clean enough IMO. All the tiling could be replaced, but thats just an observation. The only thing that annoys me is when they let in groups of kids, and don't monitor their behaviour. I've complained several times about little scummers attempting to break various machines and throwing mats around etc and it is dealt with, but the same feckers will be let in again another day. Overall I think its decent, for the money and location its good. In companring the facilities to the NAC gym, I'd hazard a guess in saying that they are not far off each other.

You can pay as you go in this gym. Its not to pricy at all. You can also have a year membership. There’s good parking, a good pool with a deep end. The gym is well equipped and never tends to be overly busy. Staff are friendly.
