So you want to get in shape and join a Gym? Joining a Gym for the first time can be daunting so here’s some quick advice.
Your needs.
* Location.
o The location needs to be convenient to you, close to your home or work is always good. The Gym should not be more than 20 mins away. Gyms that are miles away is the number 1 reason why people give up going!
* Do you need professional advice?
* Facilities
o Free weights, treadmillsetc
* Time
o How much time do you have to spend in the Gym?
o How long does it take for you to get to the Gym?
* Transport
o Do you have a car? How will you get to the gym?
* Frequency
o How often will you attend?
The Gym Details.
* Free Trial
* Equipment
o Is the Gym equipment in good condition?
* Induction course
o Make sure you get a full run down of how to use equipment etc
* Is a contract required?
o Are you tied to a monthly / annual contract
* Do certain classes cost extra?
* Those the gym charge a joining fee?
* Can I use my membership in other club locations?
* Does the Gym offer a free trial, if so get in and see what the facilities and clients are like.
I hope this small piece of advice was helpful, please feel free to add your comments and tips below. Best of luck.
